Hickory Hanbo 1.25" Short Staff 36"Handcrafted. Laminated Hardwood. Please see description for this finished staff.
Hello! Thanks for looking at my site!
This is a handmade Wooden Hanbo Staff. The Hanbo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. The sizes range from the traditional length of 36" in length. Their diameter is a constant 1.25 inch through out its length, making it quite heavy and practically indestructible for any conceivable use.
The materials consist of hickory. Hickory is the hardest available North American Hardwood, and is excellent for all uses. These staffs are made from two pieces of laminated hickory hardwood. Laminated wood is stronger and safer and straighter in general then solid wood as the two grain structures reinforce eachother.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
Hickory can come in two shades which are the lighter sapwood and the darker heartwood. These staffs can also have a combination of woods mixing the light and dark colors. Both colors are purely cosmetic and do not affect performance at all. Because no two staffs or pieces of wood is the same there is a huge variety of color combinations for each staff and each one has its own beauty as only a natural wood can do. The pictures above are representative of the variety of staff combinations, but of course the staff you receive will be unique.
*This particular staff has several very unique marks on it. None of these affect the integrity of the staff at all. It is made from very dense wood and can serve any use. Please refer to the pictures of this staff. I have reduced the price of this staff 5 dollars.
*If you are a guest and want to contact me about a custom order please send your correspondence to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to set up a listing for you.
