This is a handmade extra heavy Wooden Jo Staff. The Jo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. These staffs are 1,1/4 inches in thickness and come in lengths from 48". These staffs are laminated which improve strength, durability, straightness, and safety.
The staff is great for muscle building or weapons strength training due to its thickness and weight. They also function excellently as a wilderness walking stick due to this very reason.
The materials consist of Hickory sapwood. Hickory is the hardest available north American wood, and has a great sturdy feel. The hickory prevents this bo from having any wobble upon performing techniques.
*This staff has two very small pinknots. Which can not be felt during use, and do not affect the integrity or strength of the staff at all. The wood is exceptional and weighs 1lb and 13 ounces.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
