Regular priceSale price
These listing is for 2 100% handmade Hickory Tanbo Sticks. These sticks are 28" in length. The Ni Tanbo are also known as Kali Sticks, Escrima Sticks or short sticks and are used as a training weapon in the self defense arts. This is an upgrade from common Rattan sticks. Please check the variations to see what lengths I currently have in stock. Each has a diameter of 1" inch. These sticks may be laminated or solid hardwood depending on availability. Either option has no difference in strength or durability.
The materials consist of 100% Hickory which is the hardest available North American wood. This wood is cherished for its impact qualities.
Hickory can come in lighter tan sapwood colors, light brown or darker brown heartwood, or sometimes a mixture of both dark and light on the same stick called 'calico hickory'. These variations are aesthetic only and do not affect the integrity of the wood at all. I have chosen a variety of pictures showing different color variations in hickory tanbo pairs. The pair you order will be unique to that particular pair. I always match pairs however based on their weight and density.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which adds beauty protection and allows the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the stick, which is required for proper technique.
