Hickory Bo Staff 1,1/8" Untapered 72" length. Laminated Hardwood. Quarter Staff. Handmade.

These are handmade Wooden Bo Staffs. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. These are 72" in length. This particular staff is 1 1/8" in diameter through out its entire length which is an excellent thickness for an all around untapered bo. It still has good maneuverability but is also thick enough to have excellent durability for all uses.

The materials consist of Tennessee shagbark hickory, which is among the strongest of the hickory varieties. Hickory is the hardest available North American Hardwood, and is excellent for all uses. This staff is laminated, which means it is constructed from the joining of two thinner pieces of wood. The laminated staff is stronger, safer and straighter then solid wood. And this method wastes very little material.

It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
