Hi! Thank you for looking at this website. We have been proudly making high quality Bo Staffs and Wooden Karate equipment since 2017. We are located in the heartland of Tennessee and make all our staffs in the idyllic countryside here. Fortunately, Tennessee is also the hickory capital of the world, and there is always an incredible selection of hickory to choose from here. We moved into our larger production facility in 2018 that is 10 times larger then the facilities we were previously using. And due to this we are able to serve many martial artists all over the globe.
We have sold thousands of martial arts staffs and weapons to many satisfied customers, and are always excited to get to know our new customers. Please contact us with any questions or inquiries!
We specialize in making the most reliable hardwood martial arts weapons for all uses. This is why we use hickory, as it is the strongest hardest North American wood with also the best impact qualities of any wood.
We also carry ipe weapons, and our beautiful deluxe laminated Ipe/Hickory weapons and purpleheart weapons are very pouplar. At times we will have other exotic woods so stay tuned.
Some weapons include wood that has been reclaimed as we are environmentally conscious about the importance of our forests and environment. We are always looking for new sources of reclamied (high quality) wood that can be used in weapons. I started my journey selling items made out of entirely reclaimed wood from huge construction sites. Nowadays, often we make our own 'scrap wood' and it all gets used. Hence the name stuck with us 'Scrapwood' Martial Arts.
Each weapon is diligently handmade and carefully scrutinized before being sent out. And you can be sure to get a fully function beautiful work of art that combines the best practices of the East and the West, both in craftsmanship and efficiency.
And now on a personal note I started making staffs because I have loved the feel of karate staffs from the moment I picked one up. I still have and use the special staff that my dad made for me in my early karate years. I know the pride of having a staff that you feel special about and hope to give you that same feeling when you take yours into the dojo.
I have been a black belt in traditional okinawan karate (Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu) for over 25 years. And am a professional woodworker. I have been selling martial arts staffs since 2017. We also sell on ebay and etsy.
