This is our collection of discounted hickory staffs. Sometimes in the procuring of fine wood for staff making, we come into possession of some wood which does not make the cut in terms of being recommended for contact. These staffs still make fine solo staffs, or tournament staffs or hiking staffs. Each of these staffs are straight, and are smooth to the touch. But has some other characteristic making them not ideal for contact use. Therefore, these are ideal for home use or solo or tournament use. They are are also wonderful for hiking purposes. Often because of the more variety in the wood grains, these staffs have more beautiful aesthetic patterns in the wood grain and are more pleasing to look at. All of these staffs are made from the same quality heavy hickory that our normal staffs are made from.
Typically the main reason is that the wood grain structure is often not ideally parallel to the direction of the staff itself, making these more likely to suffer a breakage if they are hit against another object.
These staffs may also have other character marks such as minor pin knots, or other aesthetic markings, such as some unusual dark grain lines in the wood, making them not able to be sold with our normal listings.

Each of these staffs has had the price reduced by at least 10$ and in some cases more.

These staffs may either be made from laminated wood or solid hardwood depending on availability and quality of wood available.
Each staff is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
