This listing is for lightweight tournament Purpleheart Jo Staffs. The Jo Staff is a traditional Okinawan self-defense weapon used in Kobudo style martial arts. These particular staffs are 48-54" inches in length. These staffs have a constant diameter of 1" or 15/16". These staffs are all made from solid lightweight purpleheart wood.
The pictures show both oiled and unoiled staffs, to show the natural color as well as the oil.

1" Jo Staffs from this listing will be light and perfect for tournament use or solo use with good speed during technique.
15/16" Staffs are thinner than average and will offer maximum speed while still retaining strength for any tournament or home use.
These particular staffs have a faint but beautiful flamed pattern, which is a naturally occuring feature in the wood.
These staffs are finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which causes the purpleheart to have a rich dark purple color. The oil gives it a permanent shine while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
