Hickory 60" Bo Staff. 1" diameter Handcrafted. Solid Hardwood. Long Jo staff For Martial Arts/Hiking

These are full length handmade Wooden Bo Staffs. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. This particular staff is a constant 1" in diameter.

These staffs cut and finished to 60" which is a shorter size bo staff or a longer jo staff.

The materials consist of solid hickory. Hickory is the hardest available North American Hardwood, and is excellent for all uses.

Hickory can come in three color variations. Sapwood which is the lighter color, heartwood which is a darker brown, and calico which is a combination of the two so each staff is unique. I have included pictures of several different varieties of hickory. The variations are purely aesthetic and do not in any way affect the integrity or strength of the wood.

It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
