These are handmade Lightweight Hickory Mahogany laminated Wooden Staffs. These staff come in various sizes. Please see what options are available below. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. These particular staffs are 1" in diameter in the center portion and are currently untapered.

The materials consist of lightweight hickory. We separate the lighter hickories for tournament purposes where speed is crucial. These staffs are also excellent for someone who wants to gradually strengthen their body without the strain of a full weight staff. There is a strip of beautiful mahogany wood down the middle for beauty and strength. Mahogany is a light weight beautiful exotic wood.
Because lightweight hickory is used, these staffs are not intended for contact of any kind. Please see my other listings if you desire a stronger staff.
If you order the tapered varieties, these staffs can be rotated much faster than straight staffs, making these perfect for tournament use, or spinning. Tapering removes mass at the ends making these staffs able to be accelerated much faster than traditional staffs. For someone who wants the lightest hickory possible staff, with the most speed, this option is for you.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil and sanded to a fine finish, which gives it a permanent shine and and amazing feel in the which allows the hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff.
