This is a 100% handmade Wooden Bo Staffs. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool which are used in Kobudo martial arts weapon styles. These staffs range from 60 to 72" Its diameter is constant through out its length. The diameter is 1.25" diameter of this staff makes it appropriate for the heaviest of uses.
The materials consist of extremely dark heavy ipe wood. Ipe wood resists denting and is twice as hard as ipe on the wood hardness scale.
These particular staffs, have non straight grain, making them recommended for solo use only. These staffs are extremely heavy and are recommended for muscle building or good posture in performing technique.
This staff is recommended for all possible dojo uses as it is stronger then even solid hickory. It is intended for someone who wants to wield the heaviest short staff possible and it is excellent for muscle building.
It is finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which gives it a permanent shine and protective layer while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
