This listing is for a pair of handmade Ipe Yawara sticks. The Yawara originated in Japan, and can be used with one or two sticks. This listing comes with two sticks.
These cylindrical Yawara vary in length from 4" to 13" and have a width of 1"
The materials consist of solid Ipe hardwood which is the hardest available North American wood. This wood is cherished for its impact qualities. Due to its weight in the hand and high resistance to denting, this is one of the best materials for using as yawara.
These are also excellent for designing or carving your own custom made Yawara. They can be used in woodturning as well and modified into a functioning Kubotan.
Each are finished with several coats of linseed and beeswax oil, which adds beauty, protection and retains a solid gripping surface.
