This listing is for Purpleheart Hanbo Staffs. The staffs in this listing are for all sizes of hanbo. Hanbo are traditional Okinawan training tools used in Kobudo style martial arts.
These staffs have a thinner diameter of 15/16" Making these perfect for someone wanting lighter weight, faster speed, or someone with smaller hands.
These particular staffs are made from solid heavy purpleheart wood which is comparable to hickory.
These staffs are finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which causes the purpleheart to have a rich dark purple color. The oil gives it a permanent shine while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
