This is a handmade solid Ipe Bo Staff. Ipe is very hard exotic heavy wood. The Bo Staff is a traditional Okinawan training tool used in Kobudo style martial arts. This staff is 66" in length making it suitable for someone about the same size to use as a Bo Staff. Its diameter is 1 inch through out its length.
Ipe is twice as hard as common American Hickory. It is one of the hardest woods in the world. It has an amazing smooth sturdy feel. It has a beautiful heavy dark brown color.
It is sanded smooth and finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which gives it a permanent shine and protective layer while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
