This listing is for Curly/Flamed Purpleheart Hanbo Staffs. The staffs in this listing are for all sizes of hanbo. Hanbo are traditional Okinawan training tools used in Kobudo style martial arts.
These staffs have a thinner diameter of 15/16"
These particular staffs are made from heavy curly or flamed purpleheart this wood has a holographic pattern in the wood, making these staffs particularly beautiful and rare. The pictures are generic and may not match the exact staff you receive and are generic in nature for that particular curly wood. Some sections of each staff will have more or less of the pattern shown.
The flamed pattern will vary and each will have a different personality. Every staff is completely unique.
These staffs are made from solid heavy purpleheart.
Due to the flamed pattern and the thinner width, these staffs are not intended for contact use.
These staffs are finished with several coats of Linseed and Beeswax oil, which causes the purpleheart to have a rich dark purple color. The oil gives it a permanent shine while allowing the users hands to slip effortlessly up and down the staff, which is required for proper technique.
